In 1930, at the age of 24, Radamés and some friends, among them Luiz Cosme, enlist as volunteers in the revolutionary forces. Their father, Alexandre, accompanies them to the embarkation.
When they disembark in Florianópolis, however, the news arrives that the revolution is over.
