1956. The conductor, violinist Romeu Ghipsman, representing the musicians of the orchestra, friends and colleagues from Rádio Nacional, passes to Radamés’ hands the gift of his 50th birthday. Radamés’ fiftieth birthday and the 20th anniversary of Rádio Nacional, in 1956, are celebrated in a gala evening at the station’s auditorium, with a cocktail party and the radio broadcasting of a concert with compositions and arrangements by Radamés, conducted by Léo Peracchi. Several tributes are paid to Radamés, such as those from musicians, employees, and directors of Rádio Nacional, as well as from the Continental record factory, the Tijuca Tênis Club. A bronze plaque is unveiled with the inscription ‘Estúdio Radamés Gnattali’, the name of the station’s main studio.
