The months that follow are intense therapy for his rehabilitation. A diligent student, Radam\u00e9s gradually recovers part of his movements, the mastery of speech and writing. By October, the conductor is already studying the piano for several hours a day, making surprising progress. The members of <em>Sexteto Radam\u00e9s Gnattali<\/em><strong>[1]<\/strong> get excited, start preparations for the concert that would mark the return of their companion. However, what everyone feared happens again. At the end of that year, Radam\u00e9s suffered a second stroke, with much more serious consequences.<\/li>\n<li>Radam\u00e9s is honored in a special session at MAM (Museum of Modern Art) for his 80th birthday. Bedridden, Radames cannot attend. By Luiz Paulo Horta<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During a concert in the capital of S\u00e3o Paulo, the City Council of S\u00e3o Paulo pays tribute to Radam\u00e9s&#8217; 80th birthday, offering him a medal and the title of Citizen Emeritus of the city.<\/li>\n<li>On May 14, at the Teatro S\u00e3o Pedro in Porto Alegre (RS), sponsored by BASF, a concert in honor of the 80 years of two Brazilian composers: Radam\u00e9s Gnattali and Waldemar Henrique. From Radam\u00e9s are presented, in the first hearing, the<strong><em>Concerto para bandolim e orquestra de cordas<\/em><\/strong><em> (1985),<\/em> with Joel Nascimento as a soloist (to whom the work was dedicated), and the <strong><em>Su\u00edte Antiga para cordas<\/em><\/strong><em> (1973)<\/em>, with the Blumenau Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Norton Morozowicz. That same year, the sponsoring company launches the 6th volume of the <em>Discos de Cultura da BASF: \u201c80 anos de m\u00fasica brasileira<\/em>\u201c.
