By Bras\u00edlio Itiber\u00ea<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Festa &#8211; Revista de arte e pensamento &#8211; 2nd phase &#8211; anno I &#8211; August 1935 &#8211; n\u00ba 9 (RJ) &#8216;Radam\u00e9s Gnattali &#8211; concerto for piano and orchestra&#8217;, by Bras\u00edlio Itiber\u00ea<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Victor label releases Radam\u00e9s&#8217; choros <strong><em>Saudoso<\/em>, <em>Tristonho<\/em><\/strong>, choro-batuque <strong><br \/>\n  <em>Dengoso<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong>the polka-choro <strong><br \/>\n  <em>Village Style [1]<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong>, the waltzes <strong><em>Berenice<\/em> <\/strong>e <strong><br \/>\n  <em>Entardecer<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong> and the arrangement of moda riograndense <strong><br \/>\n  <em>Prenda minha<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong>interpreted by Almirante and Paulo Tapaj\u00f3s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Radam\u00e9s composes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><br \/>\n  <em>Alma Brasileira (choro), for piano and string orchestra <\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong>(from the original for piano)<\/li>\n<li><strong><br \/>\n  <em>Gaita, for piano and song <\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong>(third song from the series <em>Three poems by Augusto Meyer<\/em>, begun in 1931)<\/li>\n<li><strong><br \/>\n  <em>Sonata No. 1 for cello and piano <\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong>&#8211; dedicated to Iber\u00ea Gomes Grosso<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>On March 28th, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), poet, writer, composer, and producer Herm\u00ednio Bello de Carvalho was born. He was responsible for historic Brazilian artistic productions, including shows, concerts, musical performances, and phonographic recordings. As director of FUNARTE&#8217;s Popular Music Division in the 1970s and 80s, Herm\u00ednio created an important research center for Brazilian popular music, with institutional support for artistic-cultural projects that resulted in the publication of books, records, scores and staging of shows.<\/li>\n<li>Dies, in S\u00e3o Paulo (SP), Zequinha de Abreu (Jos\u00e9 Gomes de Abreu), composer of the famous choro <em><em>Tico-tico no fub\u00e1.<\/em><\/em><\/li>\n<li>The maestro and composer Chiquinha Gonzaga (Francisca Edwiges Neves Gonzaga), whom Radam\u00e9s reveres in the 4th movement of <strong><em>Portraits,<\/em><\/strong><em><strong>for mandolin soloist, choro ensemble and string orchestra <\/strong><\/em>(1956).<\/li>\n<li>Military rebellions break out in battalions in Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, and Rio de Janeiro.
